KISAH ALTERNATIF - TUAH VS JEBAT

Tuah gelisah. Kesilapannya membawa Melor ke dalam kawasan Istana untuk memudahkan pertemuan dengannya merupakan satu kesalahan jika diketahui oleh Sultan. Tun Ali dan Patih Karma mengajak Tuah berbincang.

"Tuah, kami dah lama tahu kisah ini, sengaja kami diamkan. Tapi membawa Melor ke dalam kawasan Istana tidak sepatutnya berlaku. Macam ni la Tuah, bawa Melor senyap-senyap ke rumah ibumu malam ini"

Malangnya percubaan Tuah untuk melarikan Melor telah diketahui oleh Bendahara dan dengan berat hati terpaksa melaporkannya kepada Sultan. Sultan telah memanggil Tuah, Tun Ali dan Patih Karma untuk menjelaskan perkara itu. Tun Ali dan Patih Karma terpaksa mengaku konspirasi menyembunyikan rahsia Tuah.

"Tuah, sebagai seorang Laksmana, orang berpangkat dalam Istana, sepatutnya kamu sembahkan perkara ini pada beta tetapi kamu memilih untuk menyembunyikannya dari beta seolah-olah kamu tidak percayakan beta. Lebih buruk lagi, kamu berpakat pula dengan orang-orang besar beta - Tun Ali dan Patih Karma. Beta jatuhkan hukuman pada kamu, pergilah beruzlah 40 hari dengan berpakaian orang biasa di Gunung Ledang dan apabila kamu pulang nanti, kamu kahwini Melor.

Kepada Tun Ali dan Patih Karma, bawa Melor ke rumah Dang Merdu dan pastikan Tuah tidak datang senyap-senyap bertemu dengan Melor. Setelah selesai tugas kamu berdua, beta titahkan kamu supaya pergi ke sebuah kawasan yang jauh dari Istana. Kamu berdua juga tidak boleh datang ke Istana selama 40 hari sebagai hukuman kepada pakatan kamu berdua untuk menyembunyikan perkara ini. Kamu juga tidak boleh berpakaian kebesaran selama tempoh itu dan wajib membantu seorang fakir miskin setiap seorang setiap hari selama 40 hari"

Ketiga-tiganya terpaksa menjunjung titah. Dang Merdu amat bersedih di atas hukuman ke atas anakandanya Hang Tuah tetapi apakah daya, titah Sultan tetap dijunjung. Bakal menantunya, Melor dijaga bagaikan menatang minyak yang penuh.

Jebat, Kasturi, Lekir dan Lekiu pula tidak mengetahui perkara sebenar mengenai hukuman yang diletakkan ke atas Tuah kerana perkara itu dirahsiakan. Lalu mereka hanya mendengar khabar angin bahawa Tuah telah dibunuh oleh Tun Ali dan Patih Karma akibat fitnah menuduh Tuah berlaku curang dengan Melor di kawasan Istana.

Setelah berbincang, Jebat menawarkan diri untuk berdatang sembah pada Tuanku bagi mengetahui kisah yang sebenar. Apabila Jebat sampai ke Istana, dia hairan kerana Tun Ali dan Patih Karma tidak ada di situ dan dia juga terlihat pakaian Laksmana Tuah ada tergantung di satu ruang di Balai Rong Seri. Lebih lagi dia mengesyaki bahawa Tun Ali dan Patih Karma takut untuk bertemu dengannya dan Jebat juga rasa pilu melihat pakaian kebesaran sahabatnya itu.

Sultan pula telah menitahkan Bendahara menceritakan perkara sebenar kepada Jebat kerana ada urusan yang perlu dilakukan. Jebat bertambah pelik kerana Sultan seolah-olah tidak mahu bertemu dengannya. Sultan juga menitahkan Bendahara memberikan keris Taming Sari kepada Jebat sementara kepulangan Tuah.

Lalu Jebat ke rumah Dang Merdu dan terlihat Melor ada di sana. Dang Merdu juga menceritakan perkara yang sama kepada Jebat sepertimana versi Bendahara menceritakannya.

"Tidak mungkin bonda, ini mesti ada sesuatu hal yang tidak kena. Melor, aku pasti akan menuntut keadilan"

Dang Merdu dan Melor terdiam kerana mereka tahu Jebat sukar untuk dipujuk bagi mengubah keputusan Tidaklah disangka Dang Merdu bahawa Jebat merancang bertindak dengan lebih agresif.

Jebat memberitahu semua rakan-rakannya bahawa apa yang disyakinya. Kasturi menasihatkan Jebat supaya siasat betul-betul dan tunggu sehingga Tuah kembali dari uzlahnya dan jika tidak pasti, pergilah cari Tuah di Gunung Ledang atau carilah Tun Ali dan Patih Karma. Tetapi Jebat berdegil juga kerana pada pendapatnya, kalau tunggu sehingga 40 hari, sudah tentu perkara ini akan didiamkan dan jika dia mencari Tuah, Tun Ali atau Patih Karma, ianya mungkin hanya satu helah untuk mengelirukan Jebat.

Jebat merancang untuk menyerang Istana walaupun dihalang oleh Dang Merdu, Melor dan rakan-rakan seperguruannya. Sedang Jebat asyik merancang, tiba-tiba muncul Bendahara di rumahnya. Bendahara menasihatkan Jebat supaya membatalkan hasratnya dan dia juga tidak mempersembahkan khabar angin bahawa Jebat akan menderhaka kepada Sultan. Bendahara juga memohon cuti dari Sultan kerana uzur.

Jebat masih tidak percaya kepada penjelasan Bendahara. Lalu Bendahara mengajak Jebat ke Gunung Ledang dan jika tidak bertemu Tuah di Gunung Ledang, Jebat boleh menamatkan riwayat Bendahara jika Bendahara berbohong.

Jebat terdiam sebentar. Lalu dia bersetuju untuk mencari Tuah dengan diiringi oleh Kasturi, Lekir dan Lekiu. Setelah beberapa hari perjalanan, sampailah mereka ke Gunung Ledang tempat Tuah bertapa sudah lebih 3 minggu. Namun atas nasihat Bendahara, Jebat tidak mengganggu uzlah Tuah. Mereka pun kembali ke rumah.

Setelah tamat 40 hari, Tuah, Tun Ali dan Patih Karma datang berdatang sembah dan mereka dikurniakan kembali pakaian kebesaran masing-masing setelah baginda mendapat berita dari para pengawalnya yang ditugaskan senyap-senyap untuk memerhatikan Tuah, Tun Ali dan Patih Karma. Tuah dititahkan Sultan supaya mengahwini Melor di dalam perkarangan Istana. Sebelum Tuah kembali ke rumah ibunya Dang Merdu, dia singgah sebentar di rumah Jebat.

Jebat menangis memohon ampun dari Tuah kerana silapfahamnya. Tuah menceritakan kepada Jebat bahawa dia telah melakukan kesilapan seolah-olah menggunakan pengaruhnya untuk membawa Melor ke kawasan Istana. Tun Ali dan Patih Karma juga melakukan kesilapan kerana menyembunyikan perkara itu dari Sultan.
